Show Me the Money

Last Monday my oldest friend Susan posted a little ditty on Facebook that I found interesting. I, of course, reposted it. What the hell, I never do the "send to 10 friends within 5 minutes," etc emails and Ctrl C and Ctrl V are as easy as pie so I occasionally repost things that are harmless.

Here is the original post:

I'm not superstitious, but this year July has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. This happens once every 823 years. This is called money bags. So Copy this to your status and money will arrive within 4 days. Based on Chinese Feng Shui. The one who does not copy,... will be without money. I can't let that happen.
Show me the money!!!........

My oldest son Tad likes to taunt his dear mother and he reposts:

I'm not superstitious either, but this week has 1 friday 1 saturday and a sunday this happens every week. this is called the weekend. So Copy this to your status and you will spend money. Based on Chinese wang chung. The one who does not copy will have no weekend. I don't give a crap and will let this happen. Show me the weekend!!!!!!

I could only retort with: Should I receive a windfall, don't call your mother.

Friday Morning (note - four days later) I am sitting in my chair watching the news, drinking coffee and reading the newspaper (Yes Tad, early in the day I can multitask!). The Early Show comes on with my favorite little anchor, Rebecca Jarvis. Rebecca has a concentration in money and all its glory, so I don't know if it's her content or her cute little face that I like so well. Anyway, her segment was on unclaimed property. Ding!!! A bell rings in the cranium: my grandma had some unclaimed property that I forgot about. At the time (2002) it required some advanced paperwork and I didn't have the total ease of the computer to do the webwork.

Guess what Tad? There is about $1200.00 in unclaimed property regarding unpaid dividends on some equity shares. And your Uncle Tom and I are goin' after it!

What can I say Tad???? Show me the money! Love Mom, who always knows best.

P.S. You forgot to capitalize Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I will overlook Wang Chung and "this" at the beginning of a sentence. Remember I love you best, but don't tell the others. XOX
